Children's Ministry Leader- Kathy Amburgey I grew up in eastern Kentucky and was saved at the age of six when a missionary came to our church to speak in our children's ministry. Soon after, I started feeling God calling me into ministry. I married Steve, the love of my life, at the age of 18 and eventually we moved to Lynchburg, Va. for Steve to attend Liberty University. Here, we had three boys, Tyler, Tanner, and Turner, and started Calvary Chapel of Amherst, among other things. I now teach fourth grade at a local Christian school and love it. I love working with children which is why I am involved with our children's ministry. I am blessed to be a part of God's work here in Amherst, Va.

She is currently teaching 6th grade, completing her 20th year in education. "My vision for the women's ministry is twofold: to inspire women God brings our way to a deeper relationship with Christ through Bible study and fellowship, and to empower women to use their gifts and talents to serve others." Women's Bible studies and outreach activities are planned each month.
Men's Ministry Leader- Paul McNemee
Paul first came to the Lord in October 1981 while attending a home Bible study in California. Several years later after some disappoinments, dicouragement, and misunderstandings he tried to hide from people and God for about five years. However, God never lets go. In November 2005 the Lord pulled him back into fellowship at Calvary Chapel Amherst County, where the love of the believers and the Word of God has brought spiritual healing and the demolition of many areas of bondage. After learning how to forgive and let go, Paul is now at peace with himself, with others, and with God.
Paul grew up as a farm boy in Kansas, but has been all over the United States except the southeast. He feels Virginia is the closest thing to heaven on earth and should have moved here years ago. He is now retired after 40 years of working in food service as a chef and manager. He is working part time as a custodian at a local elementary school, but his true passion is to serve the Lord and help others grow in the knowledge of God so they can experience God's peace and joy in their lives.
