I'm a hometown boy, I graduated from Amherst county high school in 1984, go Lancers! The Lord blessed me with an awesome family. Sandi and I have been married for 16 years, we have a daughter Cassady 14 yrs old and a son Luke who is 12. We enjoy camping, skiing, motocross and spending time with friends.
Youth Leader- Sandi Martin
Sandi is a native of Bedford County and has been with CCAC since the beginning. She has a heart for God's people, especially teens and the elderly. Sandi enjoys the youth ministry as she understands the struggles firsthand of being a teen. Sandi came to know Jesus in 1985, while living in Nashville, Tennessee. Her heart's desire is to be "sold out" for Jesus while impacting the lives God places before her. She loves to write, read, run, ski, go camping with her family and hang out with her church family.
Worship Leader- Troy Lamm
Troy Lamm, a native of the Lynchburg, VA area, has been with Calvary Chapel since near its very beginning around June, 2000. His passions are: first - The Lord Jesus Christ, second - his wife and two children, and third - a passion for music. Troy came to know and walk with Jesus at the age of 18 while attending First Baptist Church of Monroe in Amherst County where he began serving in children’s ministries and as the audio engineer for all church services. Troy was blessed to begin the first Amherst County area food bank in 1994, which is still in operation today. Troy is a professional musician and audio engineer as well as an encouraging team leader. Troy’s favorite verse is: John 4:23 "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks."
Children's Ministry Leader- Kathy Amburgey
I grew up in eastern Kentucky and was saved at the age of six when a missionary came to our church to speak in our children's ministry. Soon after, I started feeling God calling me into ministry. I married Steve, the love of my life, at the age of 18 and eventually we moved to Lynchburg, Va. for Steve to attend Liberty University. Here, we had three boys, Tyler, Tanner, and Turner, and started Calvary Chapel of Amherst, among other things. I now teach fourth grade at a local Christian school and love it. I love working with children which is why I am involved with our children's ministry. I am blessed to be a part of God's work here in Amherst, Va.
