History & Vision

Calvary Chapel Amherst County is about "Equipping People to Become Fully Devoted Followers of Jesus Christ."
We seek to do this by what we see the early church doing in the book of Acts. "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42; NIV  We want everyone to connect with God and others, grow in their relationship with Jesus, serve their church and community, and share their faith in Jesus.
Our fellowship started in January 2000 with a small group of believers meeting in a home seeking the Lord's will concerning a church. We felt there was a need for a balanced church in our area. A church where the Lord is worshipped in Spirit and truth (John 4:23,24).

Our desire is to be a balanced Christ-centered fellowship committed to the verse by verse teaching of the Bible and committed to reaching Amherst County and beyond with the good news of Jesus while embracing the work and leading of the Holy Spirit all in an atmosphere of grace.

We are affiliated with the Calvary Chapel movement which began in Costa Mesa, CA. To learn more about Calvary Chapel click here.
